Sylvia Somerville
Since 1976, I have been writing and editing books, feature articles, news columns, newsletters and business materials. My credits range from ghostwriting the history of a well-known Washington DC hotel to editing a magazine for restaurant entrepreneurs, writing a weekly entertainment column and creating fundraising letters for a children’s camp. I enjoy working on projects that make the world a kinder place. I believe that purposeful writing with a compassionate intention can change the world.
My favorite topics feature ways to be more authentically oneself—through creativity, the arts, spirituality, contemplation, health, nutrition, nature, exploring other cultures and traditions and caring for our planet. My concern for the environment has led me to research and publish articles that encourage greater ecological awareness and more sustainable living.
I also enjoy travel writing and have published articles on Arizona locations on the web and for Arizona Highways. I am passionate about haiku, journaling and memoir as an adjunct to my professional work.
